Professional Biography
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from North Carolina State University, where I graduated magna cum laude, I continued my education at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe, Arizona. Upon graduation from SCNM, I was selected for the prestigious Integrative Therapeutics STAIR Residency, which took place at Integrative Family Wellness Center in Brookfield, Wisconsin. There I interned with specialists in gastroenterology, cardiology, obstetrician/gynecologists, and compounding pharmacists.

As a student at SCNM, I interned at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)– National Institute for Digestive, Diabetes and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), and completed specialty rotations in endocrinology and diabetes, dermatology, obstetrics, and integrative medicine with my MD colleagues. My professional affiliations include the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP),  Illinois Association of Naturopathic Physicians (ILANP), and the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. I’ve also served as President of the Naturopathic Medical Student Association (NMSA), and have presented on a variety of health topics for professional and public audiences alike.

In addition to holding a doctorate in Naturopathic medicine, I am a Certified Nutrition Specialist® professional. A Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS) is a nutrition practitioner or a person who uses nutrition therapy to address health needs. I successfully completed the  Certification Board for Nutrition Specialists (CBNS) examination on science-based nutrition therapy. This certification is only available for advanced (masters or above) degree holders in medicine or nutrition from an accredited university.
